Advent Calendar

I decided I was going to try and make an Advent Calendar I had seen on Splitcoaststampers. It wasn't difficult, but there were a lot of steps. I think it turned out great!

Groom's Card #2

I wanted to give my friend a couple of options, so I also made this card. I love By LORi Designs stamps, they are adorable! This stamp is called "Bride and Groom" . Aren't they sweet! I especially loved this one because my friend's fiance is bald, so when I cut him out, I could cut off the hair! LOL! I colored the image with Copics. I haven't used my Copics too much, but this turned out pretty well. I cut the bride and groom out and popped them up with some dimensionals. I printed out the names. The background paper was Cuttlebug'd using Divine Swirls. I traced the swirls with Diamond Stickles. The border punch is by Martha Stewart. I blinged the bride using a Stardust Jellyroll Pen. It is the one thing I couldn't live without!

Wedding Cards

A friend of mine asked me to make her a card she could give to her fiance, a groom's card. Her color was wedgewood blue. Here is what I came up with.

I am a big fan of Claire Keay, and it was a no-brainer for me to use this digital stamp - Cute Wedding Couple . So cute! The larger background paper is from Hobby Lobby - B & W Wedding Words, and the smaller background paper is by s.e.i. It is called "White Elegance - Pearl Strand". It is embossed with a pearly design. Very pretty. I colored the image with Prisma's and Gamsol. I printed out the names on my computer, and used diamond glaze on the heart. I also added a small rhinestone to the heart. I love the way this turned out.

Copics are coming...Copics are coming!!!

I am so excited. I have been putting off jumping on the Copic bandwagon, because, well  they are so dang expensive. I love to craft, but I am pretty frugal about it, and spending $7 on one marker was more than I was willing to pay. I hummed and hawed for a year or so...seeing all of the beautiful creations out there...colored with Copics. The temptation was far too great...and I finally gave in.

Here is the best part of this story....I am getting 21 markers for $11. That's right....$11!!!! This crafting, not a cheap hobby. So, to justify my spending money, I find ways to finance my hobby, without affecting our budget. I use Swagbucks (link is on the right) is a Search Engine. You search (like Google) and periodically you earn "Swagbucks". 450 SB = $5 Amazon Gift Card. It may not seem like much, but I earn about $15-$20 per month!! I also do a few survey sites, where you earn points, and you can trade those for Amazon gift cards. One other thing I use is MyPoints. You earn points when you purchase from vendors on their site. You can trade your points in for Amazon Gift Cards there too! I have been using these sites for years, and love that I can make money using them!!

I had $98 in Amazon Gift Cards in my account, and that was from January until now. Not too bad! If you are looking to finance your hobby, without dipping into your budget...check these sites out!

Under the Stars

I decided I needed to break out my stamps. Lately I have been using digital stamps, and my other stamps have started collecting dust! This set...Under the Stampin one of my favorites. I wanted to try coloring with my Prismacolor Pencils on kraft paper. I love kraft paper!

The background paper is Campfire, by October Afternoon. I love every single pattern in the paper pad! So cute!

My inspiration for this card came from here - Dorcas Designs

I have been using a search engine called Swagbucks. I know this is going to sound like a scam, but I assure you it isn't. I have fully researched this, and it is totally legit. I am not the kind of person who jumps into this kind of thing without checking everything out beforehand

Anyway, you use this site as your search engine, like you would use Google, or Yahoo. It is just that simple. Periodically you will receive "Swagbucks". You then cash in the SB for prizes or gift cards. I chose Amazon gift cards, because for every 45 SB you earn, you get a $5 Amazon gift card. It doesn't sound like much, but really, you are getting paid to do something you are already doing, so why not?

Now, if you get people to sign up under you, you receive any bucks that they receive. I know, it sounds like a pyramid scam, but I assure you it is legit. So, if you sign up, see if you can get other people to sign up under you, and you will get more SB's in a quicker period of time. Follow the link below if you are interested. Please don't feel pressured to sign up. I am very frugal, and I love to share when I find a good deal!

Like I said before, may as well get "paid" to do what you are already doing, right?

Last year I earned about $150...which is pretty good for searching on the internet! I was able to get several Cricut cartridges, and some stamping supplies...and I paid NOTHING out of my pocket!
